Forum Rules – Please note the important points below.
Ufathom managers and moderators are well aware that all the members are creative professionals. Disagreement, becoming emotional and conflict with other members of the forum are common in forums. We at Ufathom have formulated a set of rules to abide by which are provided below.
Professional Communication
Communicate with others in a professional manner, as prospective buyers and new or aspiring freelancers always visit uFathom forum. It is fine not to be serious and monotonous all the time but it is desirable to create a good example for new entrant uFathom members.
Creative Criticism
Almost all freelancers are good at offering constructive criticism which helps in improving skills and the quality of the work. If you are asked for the critique of a project, provide the details like the reasons for you to like or not like the project, how it can be improved etc. If a topic is posted requesting critique it is done with the intention of knowing why it is liked or not liked and what are the improvements suggested rather than a simple ‘I like this project’ comment.
Avoid Slander and Flaming
Disagreement, becoming emotional and conflict with other members are common in forums. Please avoid hostile and insulting remarks with members, job providers and service providers. It is better to refrain from making disrespectful remarks of other members. If you must rant, it is better to do it discreetly without mentioning names of persons or name of the organizations. Please do not post any private communication with individual’s name.
Avoid Revengeful Attitude
Forum is not a place to be used for revenge. Do not use the forum to settle scores against job providers, service providers and other members if they have done a wrong against you. If you have any problem you are requested to email at forummanager@ufathom.com. Forum manager and moderators can find a solution with their best of ability for issues not connected to business relationship between you and the other party. Managers and moderators will help every member with disagreements but managers and moderators do not act as legal counsel or advisors on business.
Professional Use Private Message System
Private Message System is provided by uFathom for effective professional communication and discussion between members. Forum rules do not permit usage of Private Message System for spam, hostility and harassment even though the communications are private. Forum manager and moderators can find a solution to their best of ability for issues with other members but manager and moderators do not act as legal counsel and do not address legal concerns. Please do not post the private communications with names of individuals in public forum.
No Contact Information
uFathom moderates communications to prevent posting of contact information by its members. Do not post contact information anywhere in the forum. uFathom aims at making the platform an equal opportunity marketplace and posting contact information is a deterrent to this initiative. Abide by the rules to make the forum interaction a pleasant experience.
No Job Offers and Advertisements
Job offers and advertisements should not be posted in uFathom forum. Use http://ufathom.com/ to post jobs or projects to get services from freelancers.
Communicate with Respect
Not everyone agrees with all the points of others in the forum and you may not like all the members in the forum, but let your communications with everyone be respectful as you wish others to communicate to you.
Abide by Forum Rules
Forum rules have to be abided by all the members. Moderators have the right to review and edit the posts that do not abide by the rules.
Three Warnings
If any forum member does not follow any of the rules, a warning is issued. Again if the member does not abide by rule for a second time, a second warning is issued. If the member does not abide by the rules for the third time after receiving two warnings, forum managers and moderators vote to retain or ban the member from the forum. A moderator cannot ban a member; the member can be banned only with the consent of other moderators and forum manager with majority members agreeing for the decision to take effect. Spammers are banned from the forum and all the SPAM bot messages are deleted, this does not require votes from moderators.
